Description & Value of a Pedometer:
A pedometer is a portable battery operated running, hiking, & walking distance calculator that counts each step a person takes by detecting the motion of the person's hips. Understanding that there is a variation in distance of each person's step an easy to do informal calibration must be performed by the user in order to determine a close approximation of distance traveled either by running or walking.
